Zynga To See Legal Action Over Guerilla Advertising

Zynga, the biggest name in social gaming, who are responsible for games such as Mafia Wars, are in trouble with the City of San Francisco over their advertising of the latest extension to their biggest game.

The San Francisco City Attorney's office is looking into legal action against the company due to them sticking fake $25,000 bills to pavements and affixing decals of broken glass to wind-shields. Deputy San Francisco City Atorney Alex Tse called the campaign "illegal and actionable", labelling them "side-walk vandalism".
"The City Attorney takes violations such as these very seriously, and intends to pursue every available cause of action aggressively against Zynga for these illegal marketing tactics."
Zynga came to prominence via having their customers spam social networks with constant and automated status updates, so it's no surprise that they've run into a legal grey area.
