Tom Clancy Studio Loses Heads At Red Storm Entertainment

Parent company Ubisoft has laid of staff at developer Red Storm Entertainment as "a realignment of production priorities" by the publisher but will not affect the progress of the latest Ghost Recon title under development.

The lay-offs cover 38 staff members who have been given their marching orders and will also get the opportunity to "consider positions in other Ubisoft studios," a spokesman for Ubisoft explained in an e-mail to games blog Kotaku.

Development of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier is due to continue on unaffected, the spokesperson for Ubisoft regarding the cancellation of other titles under development by the studio replied that:
"The decision was part of a plan to allow the studio to focus on its core expertise: developing innovative multiplayer experiences."
Sounds ambiguous but at least one of Red Storm's major titles is still on track. All the best to those affected by the changes at the studio.
