Sega Happy About Sonic 3 Fan Made 3D Video

Mostly as a result of ardent internet users bombarding the company with messages, SEGA has commented on a video of a 3D remake of old-school platformer Sonic 3 and the comments are highly supportive.

In its blog post it is highlighted that the Youtube video is a rendered fan video animated over the top of the original game as it plays out so is not truly a genuine remake in the strictest sense. The company does, however, appreciate the efforts the creator had gone to in realising a 3D version of the old classic.

Still, it is nice to see what fans can come up with when they put their minds to it? Would you play the old Megadrive Sonic games again if they were released in full 3D but kept the 2D layout intact?
