During a developer chat, EA Sports let it be known that the demo for the latest game in their NHL series will be out on Tuesday, August 17th in North America and the next day in the EU. The demo will include a look into the Hockey Ultimate Team mode, a card-based game similar to Madden's Ultimate Team. It will also include a simulation of the 3rd period of a hypothetical Game 7 between last year's participants in the Stanley Cup Finals, the Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks, a series Chicago won in six last year.
Though the demo could be delayed due to issues with Microsoft or Sony, it's very likely that they will be out on these dates. For me personally, the yearly NHL release is a personal holiday, and the demo is like the day after American Thanksgiving; it lets me know the holidays are here in full force.
