Double Fine And THQ Working On Two Games

Brutal Legend and Psychonauts developer Double Fine have revealed that they are in partnership with THQ for at least two new game developments.

The trademark ‘Costume Quest’ was spotted yesterday, and was followed up by an official announcement detailing the collaboration last night: it will be a downloadable Halloween-themed action RPG, due for release at the end of October, to tie in with the occasion. THQ’s Martin Good commented:
"We are delighted to work with the creative genius of Tim Schafer and the entire Double Fine studio."

"Delivering high-quality content across a variety of digital distribution platforms is an important growth initiative for us, and we are pleased to do so with two titles whose potential appeal could encompass both hardcore and casual players."
Double Fine head Tim Schafer added:
"We wanted to make a big impression with these, our first downloadable games ever. So we are coming out swinging with two great adventures from two of the most creative minds in the company."
A third-person action title in partnership with THQ is due next year, although no solid details are yet known. A publishing deal for Double Fine’s two other titles has not been discussed at this time.
