Cohort Studios Axes Half Its Staff

It's been a bad week for video game developers in Dundee, Scotland. Just days after Realtime Worlds went into administration, Cohort Studios has had to lay off 27 workers, or half their staff. Unlike Realtime Worlds, the company will not be entering administration, and will continue to work on their latest project, Sony-published The Shoot for the PS3.

I haven't seen a more clear indication that the tax breaks that were promised and subsequently taken away from British video game developers are needed, now more than ever.
