A recent survey carried out by Japanese website Kakaku.com has created a little stir with the potential prospect of little interest in upcoming 3D TVs by those surveyed.
Of those surveyed, 64.7% claimed that they were not interested in buying a 3D TV. Of that percentage, 70% said that the need to wear special 3D glasses was the reason for their lack of interest, 57% said the cost of 3D TVs was the main reason and 40% pointed towards the lack of 3D content available at the moment. The head of the Kakaku.com’s media-creative team Tsuyoshi Kamada had this to say of the matter:

“Television makers' expectations for 3D are high but looking at the degree of interest among consumers, there is a big gap with the enthusiasm of manufacturers.”It will be interesting to see however, whether the Japanese take to the 3D TV movement when they become more commonly available or not I the next few years.
