Dragon Age II Details Emerge

Information from the latest issue of Game Informer has revealed that Dragon Age II is to cast aside the traditional BioWare ‘tree’ dialogue system, and replace it with Mass Effect’s wheel system, which will allow protagonist Hawke to respond using anger, persuasion, flirting, etc.

You will also be able to carry over your Dragon Age: Origins save game, which will determine certain aspects of the sequel. Dragon Age II begins whilst the events of the first game are drawing to a close, so there’s bound to be some crossover there, and knowing BioWare, no doubt some characters will return.

Perhaps the biggest change of all though is that only the PC version will retain the ‘strategic combat’ of Dragon Age: Origins, with the console versions due to get a new combat system more suited to a control pad, rather than squeezing a PC layout onto a controller.

We’ll bring you more news on Dragon Age II as it comes through. You can check out the first screenshots via the magazine, here.
