Cumulative sales of Rockstar's lucrative franchise instalment GTA IV, have hit 17 million units it has been revealed. The game was released worldwide in April 2008 and pretty much flew off the shelves at the time after possibly the biggest hype up of a game to that point, although it is still behind lifetime sales figures of GTA: San Andreas which stand at 21.5 million units and no doubt will eventually be challenged by Modern Warfare 2 when that game’s sales figures reach such numbers.
