Tanaka Explains Why Final Fantasy XIV Isn't Coming To Xbox 360

Following confirmation that Square Enix was only working on PS3 and PC versions of Final Fantasy XIV, online creator and director of the title, Hiromichi Tanaka has expanded on why there won't be an Xbox 360 version:
“The main reason why we couldn't go with Xbox 360 was the Xbox Live system."

“Live is different to the normal internet environment, so when we wanted to introduce this game in the same environment as Windows PC it had to be PS3, so that was our choice."

“Microsoft has a different point of view. They want to have a closed environment for Xbox Live. We couldn't come to an agreement on Xbox Live.”
Tanaka has not ruled out the future possibility of the game coming to the Xbox 360 as they are still in talks with Microsoft over bringing the game to the machine sometime. I would say this seems like how much money Microsoft are willing to pay to get the game on their machine upon release (I’m aware I sound bitter but there you go).
