Reeves: "New Consoles From Big Three In Two-Three Years"

Microsoft Xbox 360 Console Hardware Sony Playstation 3 Console Hardware Nintendo Wii Console Hardware

Ex Sony-man David Reeves, who is now head of Capcom Europe has said he believes the big three, Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony will launch their new consoles within the next two or three years with new gadgets like Kinect and Move reviving interest in the current market:
“Two to three years, I reckon so."

“I don’t have any inside information. All the first-parties have got to be working on something. The tricky thing is when do you put a stake in the ground on technology? That’s the problem."

“You can be waiting a few extra months to implement something, but you’ve got to set a date to go with a certain chip at a certain point otherwise you’re going to miss the key milestones.”
Microsoft has said Kinect will extend the Xbox 360 life cycle by five years, and Sony remains committed to its ten year plan but Nintendo haven't mentioned anything about a new console at any time yet... and why would they really...?
