Final Fantasy Producer Says Final Fantasy XIII Versus Is 'Progressing Well'

At a recent press event for Final Fantasy XIII the game's producer, Yoshinori Kitase, told a member of the Korean gaming press that progress on Final Fantasy XIII Versus is progressing well and that they are not working on a remake of Final Fantasy VII. Kitase had this to say on the matter:
"[FF Versus XIII is] taking some time, but development is progressing well. We plan on showing it at the appropriate time. We have the FFXIII localisation and FFXIV, so I believe it will come after that."

"We've gotten this question [of a remake] a lot from many countries. To make FFXIII at this level of quality, it took us three to four years."

"If we were to make FFVII in the same style of FFXIII, it would take ten times as long, so it would be difficult to take it up immediately. However, we always keep in mind how often this is requested."
Good to know FFXIII Versus is still coming along as admittedly that looks more interesting than FFXIII in my opinion. Time will tell if FFVII does ever get remade but people should move along already as you've got the original game to play after all. Also, let Square Enix bring you new games rather than holding onto your past so vehemently.
