Reviews More Important Than A Game's Cost

Branding specialist Kinetic have claimed in a recent report that review scores over price are still the deciding factor in consumers' purchasing decisions when it comes to games. The study reported that 71% of those it surveyed felt that review scores were an important factor in their purchasing decisions with a lower percentage feeling that price was the decisive factor. The report also has some interesting figures regarding consumers' spending habits.

It probably goes without saying that reviews do influence people's purchasing decisions but I would have thought that in the recent recession price would be a much more important factor when buying games. Still, there are those games that no matter how bad their reviews are people still buy them by the bucket load. I wont name any names but you know what I mean.
