Social gaming company Playdom has acquired Acclaim Games. Howard Marks, CEO of Acclaim commented on the acquisition:

Our deep expertise in building multiplayer online games and Playdom’s vast player community will help us bring out the next generation of social games."The company has also acquired other developers including Three Melons, Offbeat Creations, Green Patch, and Trippert Labs.
