Insomniac Games Joins The EA Partners Program

Quite a blow for Sony this week. Insomniac Games, who has until now developed exclusively for Sony for 16 years now, will join the EA Partners program to release their first game for the Xbox 360, currently in development. Ted Price, founder and CEO of Insomniac Games, commented:
"Working with EA Partners allows us to extend the reach of our games to a multiplatform audience while retaining ownership of the intellectual property. We are excited and eager to introduce Insomniac to a new group of gamers while reinforcing to our loyal fans what makes our games special."
The creators of Ratchet & Clank, Spyro and Resistance, have turned into the multiformat business with the supposed support of Sony, as Price pointed out:
"Sony is well aware of what we've been doing and we talked to them early about our goals to go multiplatform. For us it's an important business decision we had to make. Sony has been incredibly supportive and it's important to note we continue to work with Sony and our relationship with them is more important than ever."
We'll probably be seeing a new IP from Insomniac, and this time everyone will get to play it.
