Bravias Will Offer Streaming World Cup Footage

Those who own a Sony IPTV will be able to stream old World Cup footage to their TVs via the Bravia Internet Video service, it has been announced. Although the service will not be available to owners of PS3 TVs they will be able to access this service if they have compatible-model TV sets and some of the company's more recent Blu-ray players as well.

Where as this seems like a snazzy idea you can't help but feel that either the boat has been missed or that an elite-only means of using the service is in place right now. Over time I can imagine a similar service to this being commonly available on PS3s so it is only a matter of time before we'll have access to this as well. Maybe in time for the next World Cup?
