Ubisoft has announced that the next title of the Assassin's Creed series will have a public multiplayer BETA before launch. CEO Yves Guillemot boasted in Ubisoft's quarterly conference call the great numbers of Assassin's Creed 2 which has sold approximately 9 million units since its launch in november. When asked for the multiplayer component in the upcoming “sequel” Guillemot commented:

"We will have a beta test. We have not announced the exact date yet, but it is part of the plan."Fair deal. If you have your doubts on whether it's worth to spend your cash on Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood you'll get your chance to try out first.
