Paul Verhoeven, Director of movies like Starship Troopers, Basic Instinct and Robocop, has made some declarations about the nature of his next project he made in a recent interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz:
We will eventually know... if the project comes along. There's talk of it being based on mystery/adventure game "The Last Express," created by Prince of Persia architect Jordan Mechner.
"I am working on a movie now that is... situated in 1914. Basically, Indiana Jones-ish you could say, but also Hitchcockian. We are scripting it. It's an idea that exists already... from another medium, and so we are making it now into a film narrative." [Which medium, Josh asked]. "A game, a video game."As to what game he is speaking about, I am clueless. There aren't many games set in 1914... maybe it still has to be released...
"The writer of the video game has asked me to keep [the identity of the game] secret until he has a script."
