Paul Verhoeven Working On Movie Of Unknown Game

Paul Verhoeven, Director of movies like Starship Troopers, Basic Instinct and Robocop, has made some declarations about the nature of his next project he made in a recent interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz:
"I am working on a movie now that is... situated in 1914. Basically, Indiana Jones-ish you could say, but also Hitchcockian. We are scripting it. It's an idea that exists already... from another medium, and so we are making it now into a film narrative." [Which medium, Josh asked]. "A game, a video game."

"The writer of the video game has asked me to keep [the identity of the game] secret until he has a script."
As to what game he is speaking about, I am clueless. There aren't many games set in 1914... maybe it still has to be released...

We will eventually know... if the project comes along. There's talk of it being based on mystery/adventure game "The Last Express," created by Prince of Persia architect Jordan Mechner.
