New Microsoft Point System For US Only

We recently reported that Microsoft had altered the structure for the point purchasing system so that players could purchase points in more sensible chunks which apply to the cost of downloadable content.

We also said that thus far it was a US only benefit and hoped it would stretch to the UK but incgamers.com contacted Microsoft and asked them about extending the new system to the rest of the world to which they received the following response:
“We are offering Microsoft Points in increments of 400 on Xbox LIVE in the US only, and we have nothing further to announce at this time. We’re always listening to the Xbox LIVE community for feedback and looking at ways to evolve Xbox LIVE.”
Here’s some feedback for you Microsoft, use some initiative. Want an even better system for purchasing content? Then let players pay with money directly and get rid of the point system completely. Fools.
