Gears of War is a big name for this generation of consoles, its games have helped Microsoft a lot over the years and the exclusive has contributed greatly over the Xbox 360 popularity. Last May it had been announced that the movie would have a $100 million budget with screen writer Chris Morgan (Wanted, Fast and Furious) and Len Wiseman as director (Underworld).
Latest info is not as optimistic. Reports show that the movie funding has been cut almost in its majority and that most of the names that were supposed to form part of the project won't be in it, including Morgan and Wiseman. The story has been cut from Morgan's draft into “a more simple, straight ahead invasion story”.
All the info points towards another crappy movie based on a video game franchise...
