Comments from the industry are already saying that this seems mighty ironic when it was rumoured that the two individuals were sacked by Activision for having secretive talks with EA whilst at Infinity Ward. The two had this to say on the matter:
"Respawn Entertainment marks a fresh start for Jason and me."As expected it didn’t take too long for the two to be re-employed and they must have enjoyed the downtime between the two companies as I’m sure they’re hardly out of pocket (even though they do have a high-profile court case going on right now). All the best.
"For the past decade we led a great development team and poured our hearts into creating an epic game franchise. We're very proud of what we built - and proud that so many millions of fans enjoyed those games. Today we hope to do it all over again -- open a new studio, hire a great team, and create brand new games with a new partner, EA."
"We're excited. Now that the team is in control of the games and brands, we can ensure that the fans are treated as well as they deserve."
