PS3 Console Crisis Officially Over - All Is Well Again

Well the dust has settled, the panic is over and you'll know by now, the PS3 problems are now resolved. The problem, which occurred in the older 'fat' PS3 units included a component borking up with the calender thinking 2010 was a leap year, and since it's not, things went belly up.

Aside from shitting major bricks, Sony worked tirelessly round the clock to fix the error, and this morning everyone found themselves back to normal. Sony's Patrick Seybold posted on the official US Playstation Blog:
“We have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normal."

“If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
Just to clarify the scale of the crisis, it's thought 93% of PS3 owners around the world suffered the problem.
