New Pokemon Ranger Tops The Japanese Sales Charts

Nintendo’s newest release in the series of Pokemon Ranger games has taken the top spot in the Japanese games charts in its first week of sales. The latest instalment has sold 161,000 copies which is not too shabby but has a long way to go to match figures of previously released Pokemon games. Latest top ten Japanese chart titles below:

* 01 Pokemon Ranger: Tracks of Light (DS)
* 02 .hack//Link (PSP)
* 03 Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (DS)
* 04 New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
* 05 Kenka Bancho 4: Ichinen Sensou (PSP)
* 06 Friend Collection (DS)
* 07 Nobunaga's Ambition: Tendou (PS3)
* 08 God Eater (PSP)
* 09 Wii Fit Plus (Wii)
* 10 Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition (PS3)

Whether you like it or it’s good to see the Pokemon brand still going strong and no fear that Nintendo will cease releasing Pokemon-related games any time soon whilst they continue to sell so well. Maybe our grandchildren will be playing the latest rendition of Pokemon in 30 years’ time (a very scary thought).
