Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack: "Worth The Investment"

In what is probably a bid to reassure gamers of the map packs value in the face of the rather steep asking price (1200 Microsoft Points) as well as Bad Company: 2’s competing free map pack (being released also on the 29th) Infinity Ward’s Rob Bowling has tried to assure wary gamers of the worth of the purchase:
“There's definitely no doubt in my mind that these maps packs and the five maps are definitely worth the investment."

“Anybody who buys them and then plays Modern Warfare 2 online is going to get their money's worth out of these maps.”
In an earlier interview with GamesRadar, Bowling had said:
“You know players will always react to any price that’s announced, but this adds for some players hundreds and hundreds of hours of new gameplay to it, and on maps that have been proven to have a lot of mileage."

"I don’t think anyone who picks up this map pack is going to be disappointed with the purchase.”
Maybe not Bowling, but whatever way you look at it, it is a steep mark up for the work involved in the map pack, consumers aren’t idiots (at least not all of them).
