God Of War III Only Running On 50% Of Its Engine

The director of God of War III, Stig Asmussen, has recently remarked that the PS3 exclusive is only utilising 50% of the engine it is running on:
"Well, I think our studio will use this engine again, and it'll get better."

"And I think we're probably about 50- or 60-percent at it right now. I think there's a lot more we can do with it. I think individually our animations are incredible, and our animators are incredibly talented. But I think we could make our system technically better, in the way we blend animations."

"And I'm pretty sure that we already have the code to do that, and we just didn't implement it in God of War III because it came in real late."
Listening to comments Mr. Asmussen has said over the last week in interviews about God of War III and how he sees the PS3 as its own treasure box with lots of potential yet to be realized I wouldn’t be surprised if we see games with even higher levels of spectacle before the PS3 moves to the wayside for its successor.
