Future Publishing: "Games Magazine Market Is A Struggle"

The publisher has recently said that their games division of magazines is facing tough times in the games news and information market as of recently:
"Across the Group's portfolio, Future's special-interest titles within the Active, Technology and Music & Movies segments continue to show resilience, while Games continues to experience a very tough market and difficult comparatives."

"Advertising in the US, which has more exposure to the games market, remains under pressure."
To be honest I can’t imagine them thinking it has only been the last 6 months that have been tough. An obvious example is when you can visit us for regular updates and get several hundred pieces of information by the time a monthly issue goes to press, it’s understandable. Still, not everyone has an internet connection and magazines can still be a good read but such is advancing technology.
