Blu-ray On Xbox 360 Is Not Gonna Happen

Microsoft has again stated they do not intend to incorporate any Blu-ray facility in the Xbox 360 any time soon as they see the ‘future of entertainment’ to lie in online downloads. Director of Xbox and Entertainment at Microsoft Stephen McGill commented:
"We have no plans to adopt [a] Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360. In fact, the future of home entertainment started last autumn when Xbox 360 became the first and only console to offer instant-on 1080p streaming HD movies."
Sounds like the typical one-upmanship speak that goes on between the three main companies in the console business right now. As always, having more than one format for movie viewing is double-edged sword but it is always nice to be given the choice. That and they don’t count on the amount of spare time and money OAPs have for watching films now do they?
