World Of Warcraft Players Raise Over $1 Million For Make-A-Wish Foundation

Say what you will about World of Warcraft players, because they've just proven they can be very generous.

Last year, in between November 4th through December 31st, Blizzard added the Pandaren Monk virtual pet for purchase in the hit-MMO, World of Warcraft. The price of the pet Panda was $10.00, with half of that going to the Make-A-Wish organization, a non-profit charity that works to give children with illnesses a chance to make their wish come true.

By the time the sale of the pet had ended, they had raised $1.11 million for the foundation, which works out to 222,000 Pandaren's sold. World of Warcraft executive director Frank Pearce stated that the Panda's sold much more then the 2 other virtual pets released around the same time as the Pandaren. The Make-A-Wish foundation received the cheque this past Tuesday, and that's something that will put a smile on many faces.
