Sony Hints At PSP-Phone Merger

Speculation has been going on since Monday’s issue of the Mobile World Congress Show Daily (via Electronista) about some sort of amalgamation with Sony Ericsson’s mobile phone line and Sony’s handheld games console the PSP.

Although the idea might sound strange considering the company has recently introduced several new Android-powered phones. However, Bert Nordberg, Sony Ericsson’s president, has admitted, "we missed the window for high-end and touch-screen devices big time. (No Shit - Mark) Part of the recovery will be much better design and closer work with our partner Sony..."

And speculation clincher:
"In the past there was no tie-up between us, the PSP platform and Sony, but you can expect to hear much more about that."
Sony has been focusing heavily its PlayStation Network and expanding the service to other devices, so it could be that the ‘closer work’ might be in regards to this. But the speculations, as always, sound way cooler.

So what do you reckon to a PS-Phone? (That name is copyrighted by the way.)
