The South Australian Attorney-General, Michael Atkinson has expressed his greater anxieties towards gamers as opposed to gangs. Talking on ABC TV's Good Game about the debate over an 18+ rating in Australia, Atkinson said:
EB Games, Australia’s largest video game retailer, is promoting a petition both in-store and online for an R 18+ classification. Obviously to the dismay of a few incredibly dangerous and volatile gamers who when provoked, voice their opinions strongly in a letter. Sigh.
"I feel that my family and I are more at risk from gamers than we are from the outlaw motorcycle gangs who also hate me and are running a candidate against me.This is in reference to a letter that was posted under his door (yes posted, not attached to a brick and hurled through his window).
"The outlaw motorcycle gangs haven't been hanging around my doorstop at 2am. A gamer has.”
