Bungie had been making it quite clear that Halo: Reach, which is being prepped for its BETA run in May, will be its final effort in the series. Although they’ve went back on their word, thankfully, don’t expect much in the way of Halo for some time, a follow up Halo project is certainly not on Bungie’s agenda. Bungie community boss Brian Jarrard commented:
"You know, it might be premature to say we'll never ever, ever make a Halo game again. We sort of have a little special place for Halo in our hearts. But for the foreseeable future, this is it."Jarrad also commented on whether the studio was feeling the pressure of 'the last Bungie Halo game':
"There is a degree of pressure there but I also think that inspires our team. If we don't ever come back to Halo again, we better damn well make sure that our last game is the best one ever. Let's set that bar really high and at least leave our fans something really special."Good approach, means we can expect the series to go out with one hell of a bang if it is indeed the final title. If not, also good; can’t have too much Halo.
