Nintendo has announced the DS is now the best ever selling console in Europe, with sales exceeding 40 million units. The Wii has sold over 20 million, with just under 10 million of Wii users owning Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus.
The DS has been on sale for just under 5 years, reaching the 40 million milestone whereas the Wii has only been on sale for less than 3 years and has already reached 20 million units sold.

I don't recall Nintendo making any shovelware. Wii Music is probably the worst thing they've put out in the last 10 years and even then that's just on the level of a "Mario Paint".
