A psych ward patient has recently been reprieved from the consequences of the blackout he caused at a hospital in the Netherlands.
Jan H, a patient in the psychiatric ward, unwittingly (supposedly) caused quite a fiasco at Sophia Hospital when he shut down the power and caused a 45 minute blackout which resulted in some folks being stuck in elevators and doctors using manual means to keep intensive care patients breathing. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
The reason for hitting the switch? He thought by cutting the power he would receive a toothbrush which would help him complete a puzzle which he was solving in Silent Hill.
The obvious plea was insanity and eventually the court ruled that he had "no idea of the true consequences of his deed."
