Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Under Fire Again

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2

The record breaking game looks like it’s headed for more flak after it has been revealed to contain a ‘homophobic’ Easter egg. In the early stages of the campaign the following dialogue can be heard between two characters:
Troop 1: You ever see a grown man naked?
Troop 2: (laughs)
Troop 2: Hey man you still gay? I’m kidding. Don’t ask don’t tell
Troop 1: No ammo, no armour
Troop 2: Ha ha ha! That’s why I’m a cold-blooded carnivorous warrior bro!
This of course not the first time the game has riled certain critics (not gaming critics obviously) though this controversial scene pales in comparison to the one of the airport massacre which was leaked prior to the games release. Tom Watson, former digital minister under labour, set up the Gamers Voice group on Facebook after Keith Vaz -Home Affairs Select Committee chairman, condemned the games brutality.

Is the conversation controversial? I’m willing to put money on it that the discourse is not far removed from reality; I’m sure Activision could argue its case for authenticity. Remember folks, it’s a game, it’s not reality.

The single player is really pretty fun. The story isn't the most realistic but it's engaging and entertaining. Snow mobiles, sneak missions, running through the Favela and fighting in the bone yard were all epic moments in the game and it builds off of the lore of MW1. The SP is ridiculous but it's totally worth checking out and you'll have a blast along the way. I'm on my second play through on Hardened.
