Gran Turismo 5 Has $60 Million Dollar Budget

Polyphony Digital head Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed the budget for Gran Turismo 5 coming to PS3 is around the $60 million mark:

"There are other games that cost more. Considering the size and scale of the game, I think it's probably a fairly small amount."

Yamauchi stated how the game will have nearly 1,000 cars sporting 400,000 polygons each--100 times more polygons than Gran Turismo 4's vehicles had. However, unlike its predecessor, the cars in the game will take actual damage when they crash and will be fully customizable.

It's due for release in Japan in March 2010, lets hope we get a Western release around that date too.
