Microsoft Sold 2.2 Million Consoles Last Quarter

Microsoft’s first quarter financials have been disclosed and confirm 2.2 million Xbox 360s were made and sold in the period. Bill Koefoed, general manager of investor relations commented:

“We sold 2.2 million Xbox 360 consoles, representing over 20 percent growth, as retailers stocked inventory ahead of the holiday season."

Koefoed also noted that the Xbox 360 outsold Sony’s PS3 by more than 100,000 consoles over the quarter, ending September 30th, just to rub it in.
