August NPD figures show the US market grew 9% year-on-year last month, the first time monthly growth has dipped below 10% in 27 months. The industry took in $994.8 million throughout August. NPD analyst, Anita Frazier commented:
“Despite smaller growth this month, the industry is up 32 percent year-to-date and remains on target to achieve annual revenues in the range of $22 to $24 billion."So not all doom and gloom then.
“Across hardware, software and accessories, products for the Wii platform contributed 28 percent of total industry dollar sales for the month of August."
