Play 4 Free Strategy Announced With Battlefield Heroes

Image look familiar? It's from a game called Battlefield Heroes and is going for a similar look to Valve's Team Fortress 2. Developed by DICE, it's also EA's first game out on its Play 4 Free model.

Play 4 Free is EA's latest idea, offering the game for free download with the costs being covered by in game advertisements. They've tried a similar idea on the Korean market with a FIFA incantation and it seems like it's time to try the idea on the western market.

"The game caters to players of all skill levels…gamers can spend hours building up their characters and conquering the world" is the word from EA, although other details are pretty thin on the ground. Sources indicate a matchmaking system so players with like for like ability will be grouped, and the game is aimed at gamers from senior playing backgrounds to fresh meat eager to try out the franchise.

Senior DICE producer Ben Cousins says "With the new online model, we will continually add new content to keep the game fresh and keep players engaged, while integrating player feedback in real time."

The game will be available for download in the summer from its Official Website.
